GIS Training

In order to gain the greatest benefit from your Geographic Information System it is important for the user to have a broad knowledge of the software as well as a thorough understanding of those aspects of the system that are relevant to their own business areas.

To meet this requirement, NHance Development Partners (NDP) can deliver a wide range of training courses to suit all needs from the beginner to the professional GIS operator and manager. Courses can be run in our training centers around Ghana or at your own offices.

Prior to any training taking place we make sure that we understand your business needs and we can, if necessary, undertake a training requirements audit to establish the existing levels of skill and experience amongst delegates thereby allowing us to structure the course accordingly.

On-Site/Off-Site Training

Training can take place in our training rooms( rented premise) at the training location or, alternatively, at your offices. In either case we like to ensure that a dedicated environment is set aside for the training away from any distractions. Typically our courses run for two-days and cater for a number of delegates.

Modular Approach

Training material is divided across a range of modules enabling us to structure courses to meet the differing requirements, skill levels and priorities of our various clients. Each course is accompanied by a comprehensive training manual/workbook that acts as a detailed reference guide once the course is completed.

Tailor Made Training

In addition to our standard operator training courses we are regularly asked to provide more bespoke training to meet a specific need. These have ranged from general GIS awareness courses, aimed at managers and ad-hoc GIS users to highly focused courses covering specific topics such as data capture and digitising techniques.

Relevant Training Data

As well as structuring every training course to suit the specific requirements of each customer, we also endeavour to use relevant training data. Wherever possible we prefer to provide training based on a copy of the client's own data. This ensures that delegates are able to concentrate fully on the principles being taught rather than having to relate the methodologies to their own working environment.

GIS Awareness

Some organisations simply require a broader understanding of GIS amongst their employees and/or management teams. Where this is the case a large seminar/awareness session may be applicable. This can be an effective method of introducing people to the potential benefits that GIS can bring to their business.

Workshops

Many of our clients have followed up the training course two to three months later with a half-day, or full-day, on-site workshop. This enables them to raise and address any problems that they may have encountered in applying their knowledge within their own environment. Such sessions also provide assurances that the correct methodologies are being utilised in the management and analysis of geographic information.
